Comics for education

Certainly, many people in our industry talk about the use of comics as a visual thinking approach.  In fact, Neil Cohn, Kevin Cheng, and Scott McCloud are all going to approach that exact topic from various angles at VizThink ‘08.  A December 26th, 2007 article in the New York Times describes taking it one step farther…having kids create their own comics as a form of literacy education.  Here’s one quote from the article:

“For kids who may be struggling and for kids who may be new to the English language, that visual sequence is a very powerful tool.” — Michael Bitz
