TechSmith Sponsors VizThink Europe ’08
TechSmith is once again sponsoring a VizThink event. We’re are very happy to have them involved at VizThink Europe ’08 and in the community overall. Based in Okemos, Michigan, TechSmith produces industry leading software for image and video capture. Even though you may not know their name, you likely know their software. Did you know that over 7 million people use their software? Their oldest and best known software, SnagIt, just released version 9.0. SnagIt is a screen capture utility. You may wonder what possible new features a screen capture program could release after 8 other version. This may be the most important release of SnagIt yet. While there are many new features and enhancements, possbily the most important is the change to workflow. No longer do you have to capture an image, edit, and save it immediately. Instead, you can capture many images and edit them whenever you like. Images can even be edited together. They are automatically saved in the SnagIt image list and don’t need to be saved into external files until you’re ready to use them. SnagIt is also directly integrated with MindJet’s MindManager as well as several popular blogging tools which allow the capture of image to be directly placed in a mind map or in a blog post!
TechSmith’s other great products include Camtasia (a video capture and simulation tool), Jing (a free web image and video capture tool), and Screencast.com (for storage of media online).
