Visual Thinking for Writers with Austin Kleon
Instructor: Austin Kleon
Run-time: Approx. 90min
Format: VizThinkU Recording
Fee: $59
Are you struggling with Writer’s Block? Are you taunted and daunted by that blinking Microsoft Word cursor? Do you feel like you have a lot to say, but can’t figure out how to get what’s in your head into words?
Writing is linear. Your brain is not. Visual thinking is the tool to wrangle your non-linear thoughts into clear writing.
In this hour-long webinar, we’ll step away from the computer and make writing with our head and our hands. Using simple school supplies that can be found in any corner drugstore, we’ll follow in the footsteps of writers like Vladimir Nabokov, William Faulkner, and William Burroughs. We’ll sort index cards. We’ll write on the walls. We’ll cut writing into pieces and tape them back together again.
Writing should be intuitive and fun — learn how visual thinking can make it so!

Austin Kleon’s webinar was engaging, energetic, and expert. My colleague and I went into the webinar thinking we were getting a $60 presentation. What we got was a learning experience that was intelligent, interesting, fresh, funny — yet grounded in solid research about the ways people think about and respond to their worlds. And it’s *immediately applicable* to both our professional and personal lives! If this is what VizThinkU provides, we’ll be back — a lot.
