VizThink Austin: Visual Thinking for Writers
Sunni Brown in Austin has just let me know about the next Vizthink Austin community event coming up on February 3rd, 2010. They’re lucky enough to count VizThinkU faculty member Austin Kleon as one of their own and he’s graciously agreed to present his Visual Thinking for Writers session for the upcoming session.
“Visual thinkers often concentrate on pictures, but then our words fail us. So if you’re struggling with writer’s block, if you’re daunted by that blinking cursor, if you feel like you have a lot to say but can’t put it into words, then join us at the next Vizthink Austin.
We’ll learn visual thinking techniques to help us become better writers. Using supplies you can find at your grandma’s house, we’ll step away from the computer and make writing less torturous with index cards, scissors, and old comic books. Whether you’re trying to write an office e-mail, a grant application, or the Great American Novel, this session will help! Because writing is linear; your brain is not.”
So if you’re in that neck of the woods, be sure to RSVP here and join them at 6pm on February 3rd at Leadership Austin
If you can’t make it down, don’t fret – you can always catch the recordings from Austin’s VizThinkU session, “Visual Thinking for Writers” right here on VizThink.com
